Jeffrey Mueller, Founder & CEO
"Our program is beneficial whether you're concerned about monetary or human costs... We did not arrive at this point overnight and we will not emerge from it overnight. With concerted efforts we will reverse the trend."
Prior to a career in the television and film industry, completed a one-year practicum with Child Protective Services and worked as a counselor with at-risk youth for Child & Family Services in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
His film and event production credits include ICE - Hawai'i's Crystal Meth Epidemic, and its sequel, LIFE OR METH - Hawai'i's Youth, which were simulcast commercial-free on prime-time (eleven channels) television throughout the State of Hawai'i.
In 2005, having founded RecoveryWorks, Mueller wrote and produced Elderly Abuse which addresses abuse perpetrated by family members affected by drug addiction; and It's Your Choice, developed for adolescents and serves as a centerpiece for RecoveryWorks' presentations in classrooms, assemblies, and at the state detention home. Additional credits include events such as the premiere of the film, Waikiki: In the Wake of Dreams at Kuhio Beach (the original design for the now popular City of Honolulu's Sunset on the Beach); the first Hawai'i Firefighters Cook-Off and one-hour program special, A Tribute to Hawai'i's Firefighters; Sugar From Cane, a short film on one of the last sugar plantations and factories in the State of Hawai'i. He is also co-producer of the courtroom television series, Local Justice, to be released in 2007.
In 1997, Mueller received the Honolulu Police Department's highest civilian award, the Civilian Medal of Valor. Awarded to a few citizens who display a "conspicuous act of valor, heroism, courage or gallantry either in a military or civilian capacity," this honor was bestowed upon Mueller for his actions at the scene of an attempted murder. "His quick response in this life and death situation was exceptional and speaks highly of his strength and character and genuine concern for public safety," stated former Honolulu Police Chief, Michael S. Nakamura.
Mueller has been a keynote speaker and presenter at many local and national events such as the National Association of U.S. Counties Symposium on Meth; the 3rd Annual Child, Adolescent & Adult Trauma Conference 2006; the 2007 Stress Violence and Trauma Conference for First Responders; among numerous other programs.
