RecoveryWorks believes that a broad-brush approach to drug education and prevention is ineffective. With the expertise of RecoveryWorks' nationally recognized consultants, programs are developed and delivered which are interactive and designed specifically for intended audiences. Consistent with the literature on effective pedagogy and program development, we believe that program and learner outcomes must first be well-defined and clearly articulated. Second, that program and learner outcomes are supported with the use of research-based curriculum which is delivered in an interactive, participant- centric fashion. And lastly, that program and learner outcomes are thoroughly evaluated for content relevance, presentation effectiveness, and overall participant satisfaction. RecoveryWorks has established a replicable model that develops programs based on these principles.

Hawai'i's youth continue to be disproportionately affected by the negative impact of alcohol and substance abuse, detrimental relationships, depression and obesity. Hawai'i ranks number one in alcohol related fatalities and trauma. RecoveryWorks has developed the Behavioral Health Project (BHP) to address these issues.

The BHP is a semester-long curriculum that is based within the Department of Education Health Standards context. It is scheduled to be introduced into Hawai'i classrooms in 2007.

An estimated 77% of all people who use illicit drugs are employed. As every industry leader knows, a company's success relies on three components: its financial holdings, its physical plant and equipment, and its workforce. Our goal is to significantly reduce the numbers of employees involved in substance abuse so that a company's submerged costs related to drug and alcohol abuse are lowered.

RecoveryWorks' services include: Employee Assistance Program development and implementation; Evaluation of existing programs and drug policies; Treatment referrals; Curriculum development; Teacher training; Survey development and data analysis; and Professional consultations.
